The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render services into the community.
SASSA are going to be rendering solutions such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, plus the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a press release, the agency said it's alarmed with regard to the higher quantity of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The goal in the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some large range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is often due to the lack of SRD infrastructure at Fernie and there is no absolutely functional office committed to service the area on a regular basis. The provider level created for intervention ordeals a significant inflow of likely beneficiaries, which makes it challenging for the Workplace to attend to sassa status all people who take a look at a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise far more sources to allow the servicing of all consumers and increase usage of Social Assistance expert services,” the agency said.
